Royal celebrations for the Platinum Jubilee

Pupils, parents and staff at Harrogate's Belmont Grosvenor School joined together to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee with a Garden Party fit for a queen!
The independent prep school's 20-acres of grounds, at Swarcliffe Hall, Birstwith, Harrogate, were the location for the royal garden party featuring a showstopping bake-off competition, crown and castle-making contest.
The afternoon included pony rides, corgi-themed crazy golf, bouncy castles, fun sumo wrestling, stalls including hook-a-duck and splat-the-rat and live brass band music during an afternoon event in the grounds of Swarcliffe Hall.
Organised by the members of the independent school's Parent Teacher Association, the garden party was a great success.
Acting Headteacher Emma Shea said: "Our Platinum Jubilee Garden Party was an event for the whole school to get involved with, from our youngest children in the nursery to our oldest in Year 6.
"We are lucky at Belmont Grosvenor School to be set in 20-acres of beautiful grounds, yet just a few miles from the centre of Harrogate, so we could make the most of our space to organise pony rides for the children, a favourite activity of our Queen, as well as corgi-themed crazy golf and some traditional brass band music to ensure the afternoon went with a swing.
"It was a memorable way for our school community to come together and celebrate a truly memorable event," she said.
