Annual Speech Day and Prizegiving at Belmont Grosvenor School

The sun shone as pupils, parents, governors, family and friends of Belmont Grosvenor School gathered to celebrate the academic year at the annual Speech Day and Prizegiving ceremony.

Held on the Head’s Lawn at the independent prep school and nursery, awards and trophies were handed out to pupils celebrating academic and sporting achievements as well as cups to mark kindness and all-round contribution, enthusiasm and achievement to life at BGS.

Guest speaker was BGS alumna Leah Brown, lawyer-mediator and founder of The WayFinders Group, who shared three important lessons she learned while a pupil at Belmont Grosvenor School.

‘Aim higher than feels comfortable – the sky is your limit. You are at a school that really believes in you. It is not about being the best, it is about being your best,” she said.

‘Ask for help before you need it. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness.’

‘And make the most of the people around you. None of us do anything significant on our own. Trust the people around you to recognise your gifts and your ability. When things do not go the way you planned, what matters most is your commitment to make it right,’ she added.
