Admissions process
Magic Tree Nursery and Pre-Reception
Parents seeking a place in Magic Tree Nursery or Pre-Reception may request entrance at any time of year and will be offered sessions subject to availability. Children are invited to attend taster sessions in advance of starting so they become familiar with the setting and get to know the staff.
Pre-Prep and Prep
Pre-Prep and Prep children are invited with their parents to attend an informal meeting and tour of the school with the Headteacher. Children will also attend a taster session at school, after which a place may be offered.
RAF Menwith Hill
We have been welcoming families from the USA and beyond to Belmont Grosvenor School and Magic Tree Nursery for more than two decades.
As the closest school to RAF Menwith Hill, we are just a five minute drive from the front gates, making us the perfect choice for nursery or school during your time in the UK.
Our staff are experienced at helping American children of all ages settle in to their new school and nursery and we understand that sometimes a little extra support might be required to help them adjust to the British education system.

EYFS Funding
At BGS we are please to offer EYFS funding which is available for up to 38 weeks per year – spread over 3 terms. Parents can access:
- Working Parents Funding – up to 30 hours per week offered between the hours of 8:30am-14:30pm for children in Seeding, Saplings and Tree Tops from the term after a child turns 9 months.
- Universal Funding – up to 15 hours per week offered between the hours of 8:30-11:30am from the term after your child turns 3 years for ALL children in Tree Tops and Pre-Reception.
Additional Charges during EYFS funded weeks:
- Unfunded hours: £11.00 per hour
- Supplementary charges: £1.03 per hour
- Enrichment Charges: £103.00 per term.
All hours MUST be booked in line with the sessions available

Supplementary charges
After School/Homework club (4 – 5pm)
£5.50 per half hour. This is charged from 4pm for children in Pre-Reception – Year 2 and from 4:30pm for children in Years 3-6. The service is available until 6:00pm
Lunch
£422 per term. Lunch is available pro rated for Pre-Reception children by prior arrangement.
Personal accident insurance
£3.75 per term.
Other charges
Occasional charges that may accrue in respect of school trips/visiting speakers or similar will usually be added to the following term’s bill.

BGS bursaries
Belmont Grosvenor School is progressively raising funds for a bursary scheme and is very keen to encourage applications from parents who, because of their financial situation, would not normally be able to afford to send their child/children to the school.
Our Headteacher is extremely happy to have a confidential discussion with any interested family who feel they may benefit from a bursary and an education at Belmont Grosvenor School.
All applicants will be required to complete a detailed means-test form and may be required to attend an interview. All information provided to the school in relation to bursary applications is treated confidentially.
