At Belmont Grosvenor School, we love to keep in touch with our old boys and girls and hear their news and achievements as they progress through life.
We welcome past pupils into school to talk to our children and inspire them through assemblies, speech days, and official openings of new facilities. This gives our children a true sense of their heritage and enables them to pursue their goals in life and encourages their motivation and ambition.
We are hoping that, with the growth in technology and social media, we can create a truly global network for our alumni community. Whether you live in America or Birstwith, or left five or fifty years ago, we share a bond that transcends distance, age, occupation, and cultural background.
We hope that all Year 6 leavers will take full advantage of their membership of the BGS Alumni. We also hope that they will be active alumni members and stay in touch with the school and each other; the rewards are truly life-long and worldwide.

"Belmont was my sixth school after moving around with my Dad’s job in the Army for most of my life. I felt pretty used to looking around schools, both in the UK and abroad. However, when we walked through the red door I felt warm and welcome and knew I wanted to be part of the BGS buzz. I loved my time at Belmont Grosvenor and look back on it with fond memories. It challenged me to be my best self and I felt prepared to move on to board at Barnard Castle School. My sister and I instantly felt part of the tribe and we were encouraged to give everything a go. Belmont treats everyone as an individual and it really allowed me to develop my love of English and sport in a supportive environment."

Destination of leavers
Belmont Grosvenor School children enjoy outstanding success in winning places at their chosen school, often securing scholarships and awards, and move on to a wide variety of secondary and boarding schools.
In Years 4, 5 and 6, we hold an information morning ‘Making Choices – Beyond Y6’ for parents with a keynote speaker to explain the options available and the transfer process for the children.

Scholarship history
As a school, Belmont Grosvenor has a proud history of success with pupils awarded scholarships to a wide range of independent schools.
Scholarships and exhibitions are awarded to our children for academic, sporting, music, drama, and all-round achievement. In recent years, BGS children have won scholarships to Giggleswick, Harrogate Ladies College, Ashville College, Queen Margaret’s School, Queen Mary’s, Repton, Sedbergh, and Cundall Manor School.
