BGS Triathlon launches £50,000 fundraising campaign to improve swimming pool

Harrogate independent prep school Belmont Grosvenor has launched its first-ever triathlon fundraising challenge to fund repairs to its swimming pool.

Belmont Grosvenor School, based in Birstwith, near Harrogate, has tasked pupils with the week-long running, cycling and swimming challenge, asking them to PEDAL, DASH and SPLASH.

Pupils from nursery up to Year 6 will be taking part in the fun-filled fundraising event in an attempt to raise £50,000. And the week-long triathlon culminates with an After-Tri party on Friday, organised by the PTA, which includes a medal ceremony, music, food, stalls, games and more.

The money will be used to fund maintenance works for the school’s swimming pool, as well as refurbishing the changing rooms and the installation of new showers.

Nathan Sadler, Headteacher at Belmont Grosvenor School, said:

“Our swimming pool is enjoyed by our youngest children in Magic Tree Nursery, along with all our school aged children from Reception to Year Six.

“We have a number of swimming schools who teach children all year round in our facilities, alongside a number of local schools and community groups who benefit from our facilities.

“Home to many galas, parties and celebrations, our swimming pool is a firm favourite with our whole school and the local community.”

The school has raised just over £1,200 so far via Crowdfunder.
