Harvest Festival donations at BGS handed to Harrogate District Foodbank

Pupils, parents and staff celebrated Harvest Festival at Belmont Grosvenor School and handed over food and household items to Harrogate District Foodbank.

Staff from the charity popped into the school’s Harvest Festival before loading up their van with the bag-fulls of generous donations.

Dawn Cussons, manager of Harrogate Foodbank said: “Thank you to everyone involved who donated this year during Harvest. The weight of the food donated by BGS was 110.1kg which is enough to feed 10 people for three days. We really appreciate the support we receive every year from the BGS community.”

Pupils in Year 6 at the independent prep school, based at Swarcliffe Hall, Birstwith,  will be spending time with Dawn and the team at Harrogate District Foodbank, seeing how the donations are used to support people in crisis across the Harrogate district.
