BGS alumni Dennis Maher inspired our pupils when he returned to school to run a musical theatre workshop with pupils across the year groups.
Dennis’ love of performing arts began at BGS – he participated in all the musical activities, was a member of the choir and orchestra, had singing and flute lessons and represented school at the annual Competitive Music Festival.
Having graduated with a 1st class degree in Musical Theatre, Dennis has spent almost a decade performing around the world before settling in West Yorkshire where he works as a vocal coach and musical director for an entertainment company.
Pupils enjoyed an action-packed day learning songs, choreography and acting with Dennis, before staging a performance at the end of the afternoon. Dennis will be returning to BGS twice more – in February and June 2024 to run more inspiring workshops with the children.
